Eiríkur Smith's career is both long and varied. Eiríkur has dealt with painting as a form of expression, leaving behind works that are a testimony to unique mastery of subjects as diverse as rigid surface art, expressive abstract paintings and realist works where man is often in the foreground but the land and human works form a crowded framework. His methods and attitudes have thus changed both in synchronization with the spirit of the times and his search for new methods of artistic expression.
