In Icelandic Colours is the first comprehensive and extensive monograph of the works of Birgir Andrésson. The book includes an analysis from the author, art historian Robert Hobbs, as well as an insightful foreword by Andrésson’s former student, the internationally celebrated artist Ragnar Kjartansson, in addition to literary critic Thröstur Helgason’s discerning interviews with Andrésson and his close contemporaries.

During his lifetime, Andrésson’s work was featured in 50 solo exhibitions, including Iceland’s selection for the 1995 Venice Biennale. His multifaceted art is now the subject of the Reykjavík Art Museum’s full-scale retrospective As Far as the Eye Can See.
