Exhibition catalogue published on the occasion of the exhibition Jór! Horses in Icelandic Art in 2011. Art historian Aðalsteinn Ingólfsson brings together paintings and sculptures of horses from different time periods of Icelandic art.
The goal is twofold. The book explores the different roles that the horse has played in Icelandic society during the vast social changes of the last 100 years or so. At the same time, the selected works tell the story of Icelandic art and how it has changed in the course of this period.
