An exhibition catalog for the international contemporary art exhibition Down Иorth which is a collaboration between three art museums: The Portland Museum of Art in the state of Maine (USA), Bildmuseet in Umeå (Sweden) and the Reykjavík Art Museum (Iceland) exhibited in 2022-23. The catalog consists of thorough information about the participating artists and their work. There are new works by 30 artists dealing with the changes in society, nature and the biosphere at the beginning of the 21st century, largely due to climate change. Curators are Jaime DeSimone, Anders Janson and Markús Þór Andrésson who wrote detailed information about each artist. Andri Snær Magnason addresses climate issues in an article, Elizabeth Bischof talks about the history of mapping in the Arctic, and Åsa Ossbo discusses issues in relations between the Swedish authorities and the indigenous Sami people.
