Sun Worship, 1940
Sun Worship is a bas-relief with an image of a person against a rock which greets the sun and bathes in its warmth. The work references other reliefs which Ásmundur Sveinsson created, for example at Ljósafoss Dam and in The Church of Akureyri. It is possible that the boom in Icelandic society made the artist optimistic of times to come.
