Kjarvalskver
Matthías Johannessen has published poetry, stories and plays, as well as conversation books and other publications on literature, social issues and culture. Kjarvalskver is a collection of interviews that Matthías Johannessen had with Kjarval in the sixties and seventies, first appearing in print in Morgunblaðið and later in the book Kjarvalskver in 1974. Today, more than twenty years later, it was considered appropriate for Kjarvalssafn to republish the book with appendices and revised texts.
In this book, Kjarval's character and world of ideas appear in a particularly intimate manner: it presents spontaneous answers and commentary on the questions of the moment, reflections on life and existence, people and issues or pure fantasy.
